Kelly Tarlton's Wins TNZ Innovative Marketing Award
Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World was the winner of the 'Innovative Marketing Campaign' award at the 2010 Tourism Industry Awards gala dinner, which was held in Auckland on the 14th of October.
Kelly Tarlton's won the award with their marketing programme called 'Oceans of Things to Sea and Do'. This campaign targeted the domestic tourism market in New Zealand and gave Kiwi's a reason to keep coming back to Kelly Tarlton's.
'Oceans of Things to Sea and Do' included various promotions, such as Megalodon – The Monster Shark and 25 Years Under the Sea, which celebrated Kelly Tarlton's 25th anniversary. Kiwi's who thought they had seen and done everything at Kelly Tarlton soon realised they had a reason to go back and visit again, to see what new promotion was running.
Justin Watson, the General Manager of Marketing Communications at Tourism New Zealand, said that the innovative marketing campaign of Kelly Tarlton's showed the ability of the business to adapt and move with the times.
Nineteen awards were presented at this year's Tourism Industry Awards and other winners included businesses such as the Anchorage Motel, YHA Wellington City, the Bolton Hotel, Lochmara Lodge Wildlife Recovery and Arts Centre, Kennedy Park TOP 10 Resort and Christchurch Casino.
Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World is located at 23 Tamaki Drive, Orakei, Auckland and is open daily from 9:30am.
