Ngongotaha
Ngongotaha is a small town nestled on the western shores of Lake Rotorua, located 10 kilometres northwest of Rotorua city.
The Ngongotaha Stream, which flows through the village centre and onward into Lake Rotorua is one of the most heavily fished areas in New Zealand. Specimen Rainbow trout and brown trout are regularly taken by fly fishermen.

The Ngongotaha Rotorua Rail Trust Park is a miniature railway ride which is an absolute favourite with the kids, as is the trout hatchery which opens for children's fishing days; a fun opportunity for kids to learn to fly cast and catch their very first trout! It is the world-famous fishing perhaps, where the village is most revered.
