Hokianga Harbour
Enjoy the stunning views of the harbour and sand dunes. Walk in the forest and see the two largest Kauri trees in the world.
Absorb the history of this area where Kupe the first Maori explorer landed more than a thousand years ago, followed approximately 200 years ago by some of the first European settlers to New Zealand.
You will soon feel relaxed in these small communities of friendly people. Although the Hokianga is only an hour’s drive from The Bay of Islands and three and a half hours from Auckland, you will feel like you’ve left the cares of the city behind. more
And there are also plenty of things to do - sandboarding, swimming, fishing, short and long walks, and more.
