Australia and New Zealand Movie Tours and Tourism
Tourism Australian has invested over 40 million Australian dollars in an advertising campaign spinning off from Australia, the movie, believing it to be the perfect platform for increasing tourism numbers to Australia and in particular, more remote areas such as Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Movie Tourism in Australia
The movie, Crocodile Dundee, released in 1986 was one of Australia's highest grossing movies of all time and helped put remote Kakadu National Park in Australia's Northern Territory onto the adventure tours' map.
Tourism Australia hope that Australia will also help to convince overseas travellers and tourists that a touring holiday or vacation 'down under' can be a life-changing experience, as it is for the characters in the movie.
Movie Tourism in New Zealand
It remains to be seen whether Australia can live up to the box-office success of its antipodean predecessor, The Lord of the Rings. However, for visitors wanting to travel to where the action is set in these movies, a tour of the Antipodes, of both Australia and New Zealand may be a wise move.
By visiting Australia and New Zealand in the same trip, travellers can make the most of dollars 'down under', a long haul flight, breathtaking and unique scenery, plus great weather and friendly welcoming cultures.
